It might surprise some that the ability to take a screen shot is not just something that only “blogger” use. Sure, we use them to show you applications, games, home screens, widgets and much more. It is an invaluable tool for us to be able to show you things that you might not get a chance to see otherwise. Developers use screenshots of their apps to place in the Android market so you can get a quick look at it. Historically, screen shot applications have required you to have root access in order to use something that is fairly simple.

After tonight, that will be just a distant memory. Well, sort of. Ice Cream Sandwich will bring with it the ability to finally take screen shots natively. It will be as easy as pressing the Volume Down button and the Power button at the same time. DONE! Now you will be able to take a screenshot of your high score in Angry birds and share it with your friends on Twitter, Facebook, EMail or any other method you see fit. You and share your home screen layout or even a screenshot of a text message conversation that is too good to read out loud. Having the ability to take a screen shot natively is invaluable.

What do you take screen shot of now? What do you do with them? Let our readers know. I bet some of them haven’t ever even thought about it before.
