Currently there is no Netflix application for Android, but we could see one coming in the near future. For those of you who have been living under a rock, Netflix is an online movie rental company that allows you unlimited movie rentals for a low monthly rate. Netflix delivers movies by mail or streams the movie directly to your TV via gaming console, computer, etc… With these large displays found on the Motorola Droid X, HTC Evo 4G and Samsung Galaxy S, Netflix could offer the ideal movie watching experience via your Android device. A Netflix employee was on Reddit this morning taking some questions and this is what he had to say regarding an Android OS debut.
I just know we’re actively hiring Android devs. I wish I knew more about a timeframe for you. Good things come to those who wait. Netflix is essentially a tech company and with the way Android is blowing up it would be stupid of us to ignore that.
