While all the big news from Amazon today was the latest HD line of Kindle Fires, they did also make some changes and lower the price on the tablet that started it all. The original Kindle Fire has been given some hardware enhancements along with a price drop that makes it more attractive than ever. The updated KF now sports a dual-core 1.2GHz OMAP4430 processor, a RAM bump to 1GB and longer battery life. Projected battery gives users 9 hours of continuous reading, web surfing, watching videos or listening to music. The bump in hardware specs is nice to see, but the fact that Amazon also took the price and cut it down to $159 makes it even more attractive. Sure, for $40 more you can snag more memory and an HD screen, but whatever.
