Samsung’s first Android tablet is coming and it’s coming strong. As we get closer to a launch date it seems like this device is gaining speed to destroy the competition. Not only does this tablet look absolutely stunning, we are also learning that this is going to be one powerful device.
Equipped with Samsung’s Super AMOLED display for it’s 7-inch screen, this will most likely be running Android 2.2 by launch and the word on the street is that the processor will be the ARM Cortex-A8 based and run at 1.2 GHz or since Samsung makes its own processor, this could resemble one currently inside the Samsung Galaxy S. Either way, I’m sure it will be fast.
Specs for this device include:
- weight is 370 grams
- 4000 mAh battery
- 16 GB storage internal
- up to 32 GB external storage via MicroSD expansion
- 7-inch screen
Recently, we learned that this device was named the Samsung “Tape.” I’m sure that alias will not stick as we arrive closer to launch but given the specs and the look of this device, I could care less. Sign me up. Samsung is also rumored to be working on an 8-inch, as well as 10-inch versions. This tablet is rumored to be launched in Q3 in South Africa and South Korea and although there is no information regarding a U.S. carrier for this tablet, we can only hope it won’t be too long after.
