New Sharing feature implemented in Google Music, let the music revolution Begin

Out of all the things that came out the Google music event this evening, the sharing feature has to be one of the best. With the idea that sharing your purchased music with your friends will prompted them to buy it as well. It is a great idea really. How many times have you bought an album after hearing it in your buddies car? I know I have done that quite a few times actually. The new share feature prompts you to share your recently purchased track or album via Google +. You add in all of your circles or just certain people. If someone who you want to hear a track or album isn’t on G+ yet, you can also enter in email addresses. Of course just getting them on G+ would make life easier. Once you share music, every single person you shared it with will be able to listen to the entire song or album in its entirety once. From there they can simply click the “Buy” button in the stream and be directed to the market to pick up the music themselves.

Sounds similar to the lending program that Amazon just introduced for the Kindle. Sadly, no Facebook support. Although I am not all that sad about it. If you haven’t jumped into the market yet to take a look around we suggest you do. The music feature isn’t quite out in the market for your device, but the web-based market is in full swing. There is a ton of free music listed in all genres including Shakira – Live From Paris, Dave Mathews Band – Irving Plaza and whole live record of Pearl Jam – 9/11/11.

One thing I already see people getting a little irritated at is the way you get the music. I have already gone through and snagged as many FREE songs or albums as I could find. Even though the music might be free, you still need to have a credit card on file to get it. The purchase price is $0.00 and you aren’t charged a penny. If you don’t have a credit card of some sort on file or available then you won’t be able to get the free music even. Although this kinds sucks, it pretty much a given anymore.

One could almost never purchase anything and still be able to listen to tons of music via their friends stream in G+. I bet we see a lot of music sharing going for a long time to come. It is really going to help you find music you have never heard of and even give you a chance to hear some local bands that aren’t run by a label yet. Should be amazing for us and the music industry.
