Nexus 10 images and spec’s emerge a few days early, sports Android 4.2

Google is up to something on October 29th. We all know that the Android Playground event is going to be packed full of goodness that we all wish we could be there for. While rumors and speculation pointed to multiple Nexus announcements, it isn’t looking like that is going to be around multiple phones, but rather multiple Nexus branded devices such as the LG Nexus 4 and a couple of tablets.

The Nexus 10 is one that has been talked about a few times over the last couple of months. Everyone out there was excited to see and get their hands on the Nexus 7, but many people want more. We want bigger screens and higher-resolution. Now we get to see an early look at what the Nexus 10 is along with a spec run down a little ahead of the official announcement. This is Android, we always know things early.  So what is the Nexus 10 going to be all about and why do you want one? Lets take a gander.

  • Exynos 5250 dual-core processor at 1.7GHz
  • Mali T604 GPU
  • 2GB RAM
  • 16GB internal storage
  • 10.1″ Super AMOLED display at 2560×1600 with ~ approximately 298.9 ppi
  • 5MP rear camera with flash
  • NFC
  • Android 4.2
  • Dual front facing speakers
  • Bluetooth 4.0

How about a few photos now to make you drool a little.

You can clearly see that the new Nexus 10 is being produced by Samsung and proves previous rumors. BriefMobile explains the rear feels like brushed aluminum with rubber coated edges. Their source also says the device is extremely light and very thin. They don’t however get any measurements or actual weights in that department. They did measure out the size across the front. It is about 10-inches tall, 7-inches wide and 11-inches diagonal.

The tablet is running Android 4.2 and is a new version of Jelly Bean, it won’t move to a new ‘K’ OS system. The update from 4.1.2 to 4.2 was just pushed to the test devices on the 24th. A few things that we are sure will really make some of you happy is the evident appearance of multiple user account settings along with a new quick settings bar.

The Nexus 10 is sure looking and sounding pretty awesome. They weren’t able to lock down the mexapixel’s for the front facing camera yet or a potential price point. We are also still looking to see if 16GB is the only memory offering or if there will be a 32 gGB version as well. We can’t imagine goole bringing out the Nexus 7 with 32GB and not having the same memory offering available on the Nexus 10. No mention of an SD card slot that we could see, but that doesn’t surprise us much since all the Nexus devices seem to lack that support.

We can’t wait to see the Nexus 10 in action on the 29th, assuming that is the day it gets officially revealed to the world. Add this in with the Nexus 7 32Gb and the LG Nexus 4 we are going to have one heck of a Nexus line in the Play Store and our homes.

Be sure to go checkout BriefMobiles full report along with a slew of more photos of the device. Are you guys getting excited yet?
