Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 price leak show that Google isn’t afraid to make things a bit more expensive

Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 price leakWe’re probably only just a few hours away from the official announcement of Android L and two new Nexus devices, but that still hasn’t stopped us getting ours hands on a Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 price leak. According to the leak, which appears to be price lists from German retailers, Saturn and Media Markt, the Nexus 9 will start from €399 for the 16GB Wi-Fi version, €489 for the 32GB Wi-Fi version and €569 for the 32GB LTE version, and will come in black or white, except the LTE verison which appears to be only available in black. While price of the LTE version does convert to $724 USD, proper region currency corrections tell us that the Wi-Fi version will probably end up costing $399 USD and $569 USD for the LTE.

Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 price leakOn the Nexus 6 side of things, the lowest amount of storage available is going to be 32GB and that will set you back €569 (likely $569 USD) or €649 (again, likely $649 USD) for the 64GB version – both versions come in either black or white.

As you can probably tell, these aren’t the normal Nexus prices we are used to – the price of the Nexus 5 in that last photo should probably give you a clue of just how different the new pricings are going to be. There’s probably a few reasons for that, chief among these is the fact that these devices are expected to be cutting edge devices without corners being cut in the design process. Google appears to be going through somewhat of a rebranding period with its hardware offerings, with Android One launching, perhaps it feels the need to establish the Nexus line as its ‘premium’ line. Whatever the case, these prices are looking pretty likely, so get ready to open your wallets when the time comes.
