Nexus 7 Catches Fire while Charging. Take a Look at the Aftermath

Shield your eyes if you have a weak stomach. It is definitely not pretty. Seems that an owner of a Nexus 7 left his little tablet charging like normal, and it suddenly caught on fire. He then took it to the local burn unit, but the Nexus 7 did not make it out alive. I blame Apple.

Anybody have a sudden craving for s’mores? Kind of looks like burnt marshmallows, huh? According to the Chinese forum where the pictures were published, the owner used the factory OEM charger it came with, and left it charging for about 3 hours. It then got all hot and bothered, and started to sing the Doors song, “Come on Baby Light My Fire.” ASUS immediately jumped on this, and sent that owner a brand new Nexus 7, and apologized for the grief that was caused.  It is not like this has not happened before with other devices, and there are going to be more cases of this happening in the future. Let us know if your device has ever blown up. Also, I am going to buy some marshmallows and roast them over a fire pit that I do not have.
