The Nexus Orbit: The Google Game Console We Need

nexus orbitThe Android game console has had a mixed experience in the real world, varying from the trials and tribulations of the OUYA, to the tacit approval of the Bluestacks Gamepop. While all very good systems, none have really captured the potential that is available to the platform beyond creating multi-purpose “stock” devices like the MadCatz M.O.J.O. But imagine a Google game console that combined those existing capabilities with the newly minted Google Play Games and a healthy social aspect, and added Google Glass integration. Well, if you did that, you might end up with something a little like this:

Granted the video moves a little slow at first, you can really see the attention to detail Joseph Dumary, the author of this so called “Nexus Orbit” Google game console, has thought and put into this video, even right down to the nitty gritty technical specifications of the thing. It really is an impressive feat, and if any of these things came to pass in a Google game console, which has actually been rumoured to be possible, and ran an Android OS, I think that gaming on Android would be much better for it.
