Nexus Prime launch date possibly revealed as Nov 3rd

Even though we commend Samsung, Google and Verizon for postponing the unpacked event in honor of the recent passing of Steve Jobs, we were all still a little let down. Luckily, there were enough ‘Leaks’ to help hold us over for a little while until we heard more on the Nexus Prime front. It would appear that some new information has found its way to the web. The source is a great moderator, screen name Steve58, from AndroidForums.com. You should all be familiar with the secrecy of some of the sources we have to keep from mentioning to keep them out of the lime light. Between Steve and some great contacts inside Phandroid, they have be able to confirm a few things that we all needed to hear.
The idea I’m getting from official testers is that the screen and user experience is much better in the Nexus device, and the overall advantage is the presence of IceCream Sandwich (I’ve personally noted this to be true). But I’ve also been told by those who have tested it that the RAZR is very fast, smooth, and has a great battery life. The screen, although not quite up to Nexus, is a big improvement over the Bionic for those who didn’t like it. Verizon is very, very excited for both devices. I don’t get the feeling they’re “siding” with one over the other, but I can tell you that they never had a lot of confidence in the Bionic having a lot of staying power. Their decision to release the Bionic as is was more of a contractual obligation than a real belief in the product. They are much more invested in the RAZR.
The source also goes on to make mention of a Nov 3rd release date for the Nexus Prime. Which means that we should all get a good look at this device some time in the next couple of weeks. We will be impatiently waiting for the official announcement.

You might have also seen a mention of the upcoming Droid RAZR. With information that Motorola may have a winning device on the way shortly as well. Hearing that Verizon didn’t have much confidence in the Droid Bionic being their big device. It should be a very interesting finish to a year for Android on nearly all carriers that matter though. That is good news for consumers.
