You might have heard that Sony will be release alongside its recently announced Sony Xperia Z1 some attachable camera lenses as part of the QX series. These removable camera lenses will be available not only to Sony handsets, but all Android and even possibly iOS handsets too, making it a very interesting proposition for would be mobile photographers to use their existing smartphone to snap amazing pictures without the bulk of say the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom.
You might also have heard that Nokia had a go at Android 4.4 KitKat and Samsung on Twitter, decidedly playing on the KitKat theme of the next version of Android and the perceived fragility of the Samsung Galaxy S4; see our post here to see what they posted. Why is this important? Well, Nokia’s had a go at Sony today and their new QX lens accessory with this tweet:
The perfect match? #Trolololol pic.twitter.com/ISdv8VUhhk

Personally, I think compared to the KitKat joke, this tweet is a little bit crude. Obviously, Nokia was very successful at fitting a 41MP camera into the Nokia 925, which is an engineering marvel, but ultimately failed to draw much extra market share with its sales. This shot at Sony’s QX lenses seems a bit low, to say the least, especially since smartphone photographers who want the range and zoom available to telescopic lenses are disadvantaged using a smartphone’s camera, something the QX lenses is hoping to cure.
It seems a lot like an attention grab from Nokia these last few days, though it’s hard to say if this will have any impact on anything besides amuse Nokia’s fans. What do you think about Nokia’s tweets lately: too far, or just being a little feisty? Let us know what you think.
