Official in store launch day of T-Mobile’s Samsung Galaxy S II

The day has finally arrived my friends. The day you can run into a local T-Mobile store and knock people over in an attempt to get your hands on the latest and greatest Samsung device made to date. The device actually went live via T-Mobile.com and through our store 2 days ago, and those of you that ordered then, should be receiving shipping confirmations sometime today. If you were less interested in saving some green, then you may have been waiting for today to come. The price for online orders and in-store purchases remains the same, $229.99.

If you are one of the very few that have never even heard of this device (what’s wrong with you?) then there are a few things to make mention of at least one more time. T-Mobile scrapped the Samsung Exynos dual-core processor in their Galaxy S II for a Qualcomm dual-core chip. Bumping the clock from 1.2Ghz to 1.5Ghz and gaining the theoretical 42 mbps  data speeds on their supposed 4G network. This is the second phone to ever offer this capability and coincidentally, the other device launched today too.

Other goodies include the a 4.52″ Super AMOLED Plus display, 8 megapixle camera with 1080 p HD video recording and Android 2.3 pre-loaded. You are getting one heck of a device for $230. With some fairly similar specs, you are also saving a little and gaining a little with this device over the HTC Amaze.

Anyone out there camp out in front of the store to get their hands on one of these this morning? If you did, what are your thoughts?
