Don’t get this confused with the earlier post of the G2x by LG, this is the leaked Gingerbread update that is slated for the HTC T-mobile G2. The one with the slide out keyboard, remember that one? Sure seems like a lot of leaks are running around today. Thats good news. I’m happy to finally see the carrier working hard to bring its devices up to date finally.

As with any leaked version of a new update, there are some pros and cons. They happened to give a great list of these at the t-mobile support forums so Ill just share those –
There’s a few cons about the leak like:
– No 3-botton reset.
– Long pressing the camera buttom makes the phone vibrates.
– You cant root the phone once this is done. There’s no way to downgrade again to 2.2.
– Some people had reported problems with their backlight keyboard (I dont have any)
However, the pros outweights the cons:
– Better radio (No, not AM/FM radio)
– Better audio codecs
– Faster boot up… (under 30 seconds on my phone)
– Faster response.
– Better GUI
– Bug Fix on bluetooth and Wifi.
If this still sounds like something you are looking for, then I suggest you direct your browser to T-Mobile Support immediately and snag the file before it gets taken away. Follow the simple posted instructions and let us know how the new update works on your device.
