Google has done a pretty amazing job of keeping up with new developments and making me smile. With updates to their Google map services, e-mail apps and software, they are always moving towards making my life and others lives easier. This is not about what Google has done for me, it is more of a request for development.
Here is what I have issues with. First of all Google solved my emailing issues by allowing a few simple and easy ways to change accounts on my Android based device. Allowing me multiple sign ins and easy switching between accounts. Those updates have sure simplified my life, since I manage 5 Gmail based accounts. This is very handy, when I am on my phone and am out and about. I feel they are lacking in the PC versions though. I find myself continuously having to switch accounts and type in various passwords to switch to another account when an email comes in and pops up on my device. This really drives me insane. Â I could be wrong. I could be missing a key element that would make my PC based user experience easier. If I am, I know I, as well as many others, would love to hear your remedies to this ever pressing issue in my daily life.
My second conflict arises in my Gchat services. Although I love Gchat, and some of you have that information, I feel like technology has come to a point that I should be able to manage more then one at a time. This is my issue. Writing for AndroidStory.com, I have a Gmail based work account, and an AndroidStory.com Gchat account. Since I can not easily switch between the two on my device or on my PC, I find myself constantly giving out my personal Gchat information to people. This simple, yet large, conflict may not seem like a big deal to many, it poses a conflict. I can not manage a site based Gchat account on my PC or device. It can be rather annoying.
I am not sure about the rest of you guys out there in cyberspace, but I have issues having to either sign out and change accounts all the time, or having to have multiple different browsers open (Chrome, Rockmelt, Firefox), to keep everything open at once. Hopefully I am not alone in the struggles this poses.
Let us know what you think, maybe Google will read this and say “Hey, that is a good point we should look into.” If not, well, at least we can all feel better knowing we are not alone.
