T-Mobile has begun rolling out an update for the LG G2 today that brings the device to software version D80120g with Android 4.4.2. The update isn’t anything earth shattering ie, it isn’t Lollipop or anything. It does however add in the ability to connect to GoGo in-flight for sending and receiving text messages at 30,000 feet in the air. This gives T-Mobile 16 total devices that are capable of taking advantage of this option.
The update also is listed with Bluetooth connectivity improvements and Wi-Fi connectivity improvements. I find it rather funny that it also states UI improvements for T-Mobile Free Inflight Texting support. It is mildly comical since this update is what supposedly gives users access to this for the first time on the device.
If you happen to be the current proud owner of the LG G2, then you might want to check and see if you have an update waiting for you. If you do, be sure you have over 50% battery life before you attempt to get things rollings, a solid Wi-Fi connection and a little bit of time to download and install the package.
