Have you been looking for an all in one photo editor that pretty much does everything but haven’t wanted to purchase an app that cost $5 or more? Me too. I’m a big fan of free.
I found PicsArt in the trending section of the Market this morning. After playing with it for a while I’m pretty impressed. It has its own camera interface with forward facing camera support. You can import pics that you have already taken for editing and you can even just doodle on a blank canvas if you want. The UI is very trendy, and has plenty of pull tabs for extra features tucked away here and there.
According to the description PicsArt combines some old apps that disappeared from the market. PicsIn, Photoid, and AnDrawing have all been combined so that you only have to open one app for all of your editing needs. PicsArt has also included some new features like, “Magic effects – awesome artistic photo effects such as Stenciler, Cartoonizer, Sketcher, Orton, Lomo, Vintage, Cross Process, HDR, Fattal, Pencil, and Holgaart.”
And for those of you who just have to share their photos with the world, or like me have relatives who absolutely must have up to date photos of your children, PicsArt can integrate with  Facebook, Flickr, Picasa, Dropbox, Fouresquare, Tumblr, Blogger and WordPress.
One thing I don’t like about it. The contrast feature isn’t quite up to par. It seems to only affect the “brights” and not the “darks.” A good contrast adjustment should increase the ratio of bright to dark. So increasing contrast should increase both brights and darks at the same time. PicsArt’s contrast adjustment does not. This is actually a major problem in my opinion. But it could be fixed by the dev I suppose. Other than that I’ve really enjoyed it.
All in all this is a great app with its cute UI and a FREE price tag, PicsArt has probably made itself one of the must have photo apps.
