What did we do before social bookmarking? Basically it all came down to emailing ourselves the bookmarks home so we can save them to another computer. How truly sad. Then sites like del.icio.us came around, later purchased by Yahoo.com, which was danged convenient. Your bookmarks were now available everywhere you went. But as a developer, I’m all about the User Interface and increased functionality and after a couple years, I stumbled upon my current solution for the desktop – Diigo.com.
So if you haven’t used it yet on your PC/MAC, check out the free social bookmarking site Diigo. The options to sort and markup your links and even pages on this site are too numerous to mention here. Now if only I could continue using this service on my EVO.
But the folks at Diigo have come to the rescue with a tool called Power Note.
What makes this program so special is that you can:
- Add text notes
- Camera Shots
- Photos from your Camera Gallery
- Create bookmarks on-the-fly
- SMS text messages
- …even speech to text transcriptions (although admittedly not very accurate)
…can now be saved directly to your Diigo Library for future reference!
Very slick stuff. For more information, you can go here: http://www.diigo.com/tools/power_note_for_android
The Power Note tool is absolutely FREE, with NO ADS and is in V1.0.4 Beta.
