You may recall the indie roundup I wrote earlier this week about the indie games I saw at EB Expo in Sydney over the weekend, one of the games being OTTTD, a creation from Australian indie outfit, SMG Studio. Having learnt that OTTTD actually stands for “Over-the-top tower defence”, SMG Studio has kindly provided a pre-alpha video of the game that was showed of at EB Expo to illustrate exactly how over the top it is:
 I mentioned in the round-up that I really liked the gore that I saw in OTTTD, particularly all the blood and chunks just made the game wonderfully gruesome. OTTTD is going to be a
tower defence game that incorporates hybrid gameplay features such as heroes that act as movable towers while maintaining the good old facets of tower defence that we all know and love. SMG Studio has not given us a more specific released date for OTTTD beyond “soon, probably early next year”, but as this is a pre-alpha build, we’re excited to see more from the indie developer in the near future.
