Today is one of the biggest days for Samsung in their entire history. Recently they announced their Galaxy S series smartphones on 4 major carriers in the USA. They introduced us to their first ever 4G device, the Samsung Epic 4G, which is going to hit Sprint later this Summer. We also saw Samsung announcing one of the best devices of all time, the Galaxy S, on AT&T (as Captivate), Verizon (Fascinate), and T-Mobile (as Vibrant), which is no doubt a very fast and stunning device.
Today during the event, Samsung answered the question that everyone was asking, “Are all Galaxy S phones are getting an upgrade to 2.2? “, and the answer is “Yes”. They made it clear that all Galaxy S phones will get Android 2.2 later this year which will support Adobe Flash 10.1. Sprint is saying that their EPIC device will be the first to receive to receive the update.
The main reason Samsung is pushing Galaxy S series so hard is to break HTCs backbone in countless pieces. Samsung currently has 5% of smartphone sales, and they recently announced that they will double their sales this year by beating HTC, whose smartphone sales are 7%. So that means that Samsung is on fire, and you can expect more devices from Samsung this year. Today we saw the first shots of the upcoming Samsung Intercept, which is probably going to be Samsung Moment 2.
Verizon is almost ready to launch the Droid X, which is no doubt a very good phone, or a superphone, and I think Fascinate is going to give the Droid X a very hard time (we’ll see that soon). If you talk about AT&T, I can’t believe that they finally picked a device that is way better than the iPhone 4, and which is also going to be the best Android device on AT&T (Aria is also a very good device).
The folks over at Engadget got their hands on the Samsung Fascinate, Samsung Vibrant, and the EPIC 4G. So don’t forget to read their review on these powerful handsets.
