Qualcomm’s next gen. Snapdragons to bring 5X power with 75% less energy consumption

Starting with the Google Nexus One, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor has made a definite impression among the mobile market and presently, anything less than 1GHz is way too slow according to many of you. Qualcomm has stepped their game up offering next generation processors which can be found in devices like the T-Mobile G2/HTC Desire Z (800MHz), the T-Mobile myTouch 4G (1GHz) and the HTC Desire HD (1GHz) which pulls crazy high quadrant scores with the help of the new Adreno 205 GPU.

Qualcomm continues to step their game up with the new next generation Snapdragon chips that will bring 5X more power with 75% less battery consumption which we’re assuming Qualcomm is comparing the first gen Snapdragon to the latest to get these stats. The new chipset, the dual-core MSM8960 is clocked at 1.2GHz thanks to the new 28-nanometer processor which will make your device 4G compatible even if your carrier isn’t offering 4G service. It looks like they’re upping the Adreno 205 GPU to the Adreno 300 GPU to offer 4X graphics processing as well. The MSM8960 chipset is scheduled to arrive next year sometime and we must say, we’re ready.
