Here is a little treat that no one seems to have noticed. GOOGLEinHK is an official Google channel in Hong Kong. They recently added a video of Google voice to their line up of content in the latter part of November. What no one really noticed until recently was that the UI being used on the Nexus One appears to be Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The signs that lead us to believe that this is Gingerbread are somewhat small. If you take a look at the photo provided by Engadget you will see the black task tray at the top of the device. You will also notice the icons on the task tray are new, there is a slightly redesigned launcher bar at the bottom. While watching the video you will also notice differences in the market with the addition of a “Related” tab and the restyled buttons in settings.
I am not entirely convinced since I do not understand any of what is being shown. The icons and redesign of the settings buttons do look pretty nice. It is however extremely plausible. I am going to stay neutral on this one for the simple fact that the Android community is very good at doing what they want and this could just as easily be a prettied up version of a ROM with some framework tweaks done. Feel free to prove me wrong and watch the full video below.
