It’s been just over a year since Motorola announced the original Motorola Moto 360 smartwatch and we’re getting a little jittery waiting for its follow-up. A few rumours have popped up here and there to suggest what the Moto 360 successor might look like, and today’s offering gives us a render which appears to depict quite a familiar design. Posted on Weibo, the image appears to show a smartwatch with all the hallmarks of a Moto 360, minus the ‘flat tire’ and removable lugs for the watch band. And we’d be completely convinced if it weren’t for an image that was allegedly posted up by a Lenovo executive a few weeks ago, which shows a smartwatch with the only button on the device mounted slightly higher than it was on the original Moto 360.
It’s pretty impossible at this point to say which image is right, though we’ll leave it up to you to speculate which image is more convincing. We’re not expecting Motorola to reinvent the wheel with the Moto 360 successor (though many would like the ‘flat tire’ to go away) especially seeing as it was the top selling Android Wear device last year – we’ll just have to see if Motorola can make lightning strike twice.
