Rockstar Games delivers, Max Payne Mobile hits the Play Store for All

We often times take developers and manufacturers words with a grain of salt. Sometimes they set a date for a game, app or device and miss that target. Usually due to bugs or other issues that need to be address before release. While that is admirable, it can be extremely irritating. Early in the week Rockstar Games promised us Max Payne Mobile on June 14th. Then we hear that by midnight EST it would be live. That means a little earlier for us on the west coast. Guess what? Rockstar Games delivered on time as promised. I love it when a plan comes together.

So what is the big deal? Well, if you are a gamer then you know all about the Max Payne series. Rockstar actually just released Max Payne 3 not to long ago and it has been a huge success. There is something amazing awesome about shooting people in slow motion as you fly in front of a door jam. The game is based off the very first Max Payne but has been enhanced with some stellar HD graphics, gameplay tailored to touch screens, customizable controls, and multiple aiming modes. Not to shabby Rockstar, not to shabby at all. Heck, they even enabled the cheats for the game.. We don’t see that to often in mobile game versions.

In addition to all the wonders that Rockstar has added in, they also made sure that tablets were supported. This is a nice touch for a change. To make things even better, they also made sure external controllers worked too. Now we are talking. The official list of supported devices is as follows –

Android Phones: Motorola Razr, Razr Maxx, Motorola Atrix, Motorola Photon, Motorola Droid Bionic, HTC Rezound, HTC One X, HTC One S, HTC Evo 3D, HTC Sensation, HTC Droid Incredible 2, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Samsung Nexus S, Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung S2, Samsung Galaxy R, Sony Xperia Play, Sony Xperia S, Sony Walkman Z Series Media Player

Android Tablets: Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime, LG Optimus Pad, Medion Lifetab, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 / 10.1, Sony Tablet S, Sony Tablet P, Toshiba Thrive, HTC Flyer, HTC Jetstream

Don’t stress out if your device isn’t listed. Seems the Vizio VTAB and Samsung Vibrant are able to play the game too. To many devices for them to actually list, it is best if you just check the Play Store and see if it is supported. Oh, and make sure you have more than 1.33GB f space available before you try to download and install the app.
