Roku lovers and users now have official ‘Roku’ app in the Market

Roku is a pretty great little device if you happen to have one. It is almost like the Google TV, with out all the Google. You can use a Roku box to stream Netflix, Pandora, Hulu Plus and others that you might already be used too. Now the Roku company has released a compatible Android application for you Android junkies out there.

Utilizing the app, you can control your Roku box with your Android Device. Making the remote obsolete. The app lets you launch or rate any Roku channel, includes a touch remote for navigation, quickly add or remove channels from your Roku player and even switch between multiple Roku players. They say the app will work with any Roku player currently on the market. It only functions through your home Wi-Fi network, so don’t expect to control things work. It is nice to see another remote option that let us utilize our devices. The way things are shaping up, I’m gonna feel like a millionaire with a universal touch remote to run every thing in my house. Pretty cool.

Don’t be confused though, this app is designed to work with your Roku player as a remote, not a streaming app of any sorts. There seems to be a hit and miss as far as comments are concerned. This is Roku’s first application in the market. Trouble is sure to ensue. To take it for a spin, click or scan the QR code below. Let us know how it works out for you.
