A few months back, Codename Android was one of the most popular ROMs available for the Nexus family. However, due to circumstances beyond control, Codenamedroid (a.k.a. Blackdroid) had to leave the developer community. Today, he has made a return with CNA, and is bringing version 3.0.0 to the table. This new version comes 5 months after the previous release (V2.0) , and brings the newest version of Android, Jelly Bean, to the table.
Like AOKP and CyanogenMod, Codename Android is one of the most robust ROMs you’ll find for your device. It’s packed with features, some from other ROMs as the developer has noted, but he has given credit where credit is due. This seems to be a big issue in the developer community, as developers get mad when others copy their work without credit. But I totally understand, as I wouldn’t want someone else copying my work. Ahem, plagiarism.
Some of the features are common throughout all Jelly Bean ROMs, such as Lockscreen, Notification Bar and Status Bar customization, Custom Profiles, and Performance settings. There are too many to list, so you’ll have a better chance learning what the ROM is about by experiencing it yourself.
Nevertheless, if you’re interested in downloading the ROM, it’s available for the Galaxy Nexus (GSM, Verizon, and Sprint), Nexus S (GSM and CDMA), Nexus 7, and Motorola Xoom (LTE). You should note that only the Galaxy Nexus ROMs are considered “stable,” as all the others are still in beta testing.
