With all the random happening in the world of Android device manufacturers one fact remains, Google devices seems to be the only ones free of politics. Phones such as the Nexus One and Nexus S offer users the “pure” Android experience and what’s even better is they’re all completely developer friendly and often come sim-unlocked right out of the box. Since the leaks started concerning a new Google handset specifications have been sketchy, people have been left wondering a few things. Who’s gonna carry it? What’s gonna be in it? With the big question being, who’s gonna make it? A few of the questions may now be answered.
The guys over at BGR stumbled upon a bit of news regarding the new Google device aptly named, the Google Nexus 4G. While certain specifics still remain unknown a spec list has been discovered which is sure to send all Android fans into a frenzy. According to their source the new Nexus phone will feature a “monster-sized” 720p display, a next-gen dual-core 1.2 or 1.5GHz OMAP 4460 or Krait-based Snapdragon processor with 1GB of RAM, 4G LTE radio, dual-cameras 1MP front and 5MP rear with 1080p HD video capture, and best of all Android 4.0 Icecream Sandwich. While the camera specs may seem a bit below par the technology is said to be more advanced featuring “classing leading” image quality and superior low-light performance. In the same fashion as the Nexus S this handset is expected to deliver these goods in a sleek, ultra-thin casing. Additionally, a surprising detail disclosed mentions the absence of physical Android buttons, as seen of the other Nexus phones, instead opting for a everything being software based.
This device is expected to be launched some time around Thanksgiving and a some theories suggest that it could be one of the many, if not the first, 4G LTE phones AT&T has promised for this year. It’s also been suggested that this device could just be a flagship for the initial delivery of Android 4.0 Icecream Sandwich rather than a regular Nexus branded product. One thing is for sure if these specs line up it’s sure to be the most epic devices mentioned this year.
