[Rumor] LG Optimus G Nexus Arriving in November Along with some Major Changes to Nexus Program

Time for another batch of rumors my Android friends. This one coming from a trusted source of the Android an Me guys. Seems that the LG Optimus G Nexus is set to arrive in November, and yes, it will be in fact called the LG Optimus G Nexus. I guess the whole flagship Nexus program is no more. OEM’s will now be allowed to use their UI skins for the new Nexus phones, which I can already hear the moan and groans coming from the community. It is okay though, because there is a nice little twist that comes with that.

Seems that OEM’s must abide by certain strict guidelines to be in the Nexus Program. These new Nexus phones must use stock Android with  64 MB of secure memory for media streaming. The custom UI’s that OEM’s love to cover up that beautiful stock Android with, can be added through the new “customization center”. So it sounds like if you want to use the OEM’s UI skin you can, or you can just stick with stock Android which a lot of heavy users will probably do. Kind of cool if you ask me. As much as we have always hated the UI’s that have covered that precious stock Android, each one has improved greatly with each version.

Now we reported that Google planned on unveiling the new Nexus phone in the “next 30 days”, which we figured would come with the new OS version, Android 4.2. Seems that Google and LG are planning an event where they will unveil the new phone and new OS. Want to get really excited? Another guideline these new Nexus phones must uphold, is their hardware must be able to support Android 5.0. That is correct. Looking even further ahead. Android 5.0 is rumored to be released in early 2013.

Pretty exciting rumors if you ask me. The mention of not only Android 4.2, but also 5.0? That will give the fanboys a little tingle in their jingle. Okay, so we got Key lime Pie, so now Lemonhead? Licorice? Lollipop? The letter L has many possibilities, unlike that dreaded K letter that is coming up. Let us know what you guys think. You guys liking these rumored new Nexus program guidelines? Who plans on getting the LG Optimus Nexus?
