In conjunction with researchers at the University of Texas, Samsung is investigating to use of EEG caps with mobile devices. Â Users then only need to focus on icons on a screen to interact with them.
While this all sounds very interesting, it will probably be a long time before we see this going mainstream, as the accuracy is only 80-95%, which wouldn’t make for a very good user experience, though to be fair, I think Samsung is developing this with disabled people in mind.
Researchers are looking to develop better looking, less obtrusive EEG caps. Â We will probably see these coming to the market after a few years, when the technology has progressed a fair bit more.
