Most Android devices that come out look to focus on our biggest rival, the iPhone, but it looks like this one has its sights set elsewhere. You’ll notice from the pictures that this new Samsung Device – aptly named the Galaxy Pro – is most definitely not a crack at the iPhone but rather a venture into the commercial market Blackberry dominates. We’ve seen other phones take the road less traveled – like the Droid Pro – however, unlike the Droid Pro this device seems a little less action packed.
The Galaxy Pro was introduced during the Samsung SEA Forum in Singapore, and seems to be lacking a bit in the feature department. It’s set to debut with:
- Android 2.2 Froyo
- TouchWiz UI
- 2.8″ HVGA capacitive touchscreen display
- 800MHz Processor
- 3MP camera with auto focus
- Unique 4-row Physical Qwerty Keyboard
- Social Hub Premium
UK Carrier Three has already announced that they would be carrying this device, which you can see in the video below.
Just like the other Samsung devices debuting without Gingerbread, updates are promised to be on their way. Hopefully we see some more interesting devices coming from them as well as more software upgrades for the devices they already have out. I’m hoping they pick up their game, while I know a lot of people have abandoned them completely, there’s no denying Samsung has some rather nice devices. It’s a shame for those that can’t/won’t root their devices and are stuck with old software.
