Earlier today, we were treated to a leaked photo of what was rumoured to be Samsung’s new curved smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Round. Those rumours have now been confirmed as Samsung has gone official with their announcement of the Galaxy Round, a 5.7-inch phablet that packs a 2.3GHz processor, 3GB of RAM, that curved 1080p Super AMOLED screen as well as radios that are capable of harnessing the LTE-A network in Korea. Unsurprisingly then, the Galaxy Round will be releasing in Samsung’s native Korea first in “luxury brown” and there has yet to be word on whether the phone will be seen anywhere else in the world.
Other key features of the Galaxy Round include a leather back, much like the newly minted Galaxy Note 3 as well as a 2,800mAh battery, which does seem a bit small given the Note 3 has a 3,200mAh battery with a similarly sized screen, though is marginally lighter than the Note 3 because of it. Samsung has also teased another feature of the Galaxy Round on Samsung Tomorrow in a video named the “Roll Effect”:
An interesting phone to be sure. What are your thoughts on the Samsung Galaxy Round?
