If you happen to be a bit more of a rugged individual and have plenty of horror stories about your device and the various elements, then the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active might be more your style. The S4 Active has made the rumor mill a few times and it certainly seems like a good idea. Seems some more evidence of the device has made its way to the internet today in the form of an FCC approval. The device is sporting the same four LTE bands that AT&T uses, so it is likely that it is the AT&T variant of the device. Of course that isn’t confirmed. Details are a bit scarce but the as you can see in the little preview video of the device, it doesn’t really look like an S4. Offering up the same 3 button config style with a slight redesign no doubt to accommodate the dust and water resistance aspect of the device.
Previous images of the S4 Active that surfaced showed off a quad-core processor, while the video mentions a dual-core Snapdragon S4 Plus processor. Â It is very likely that there will be two different models for different countries. We will just have to wait and see what Samsung packs inside and where it plans to launch these devices.
What is your take on it? Is Samsung on the right track bringing in a dust and water resistant phone? Even with the drop in camera resolution, and as long as it is quad-core, I think it has the potential to sell really well. Especially if they get this out in the next month or so, just in time for summer fun.
