We’re still over a month away from MWC 2015, but the rumours surrounding what will inevitably be Samsung‘s biggest announcement are already spreading like wildfire. The latest news says that the Samsung Galaxy S6 is rumoured to have a non-removable battery, something which has been a key differentiator of Samsung’s for some time. The abandoning of this is likely to be due to the fact the device is rumoured to have a metal unibody, and as part of its new fantastical design, will incorporate a glass back as well, a la the Xperia Z series.
If true, these changes are a clear indication that Samsung is willing to change as much of its previous Galaxy S formula to create a Galaxy S6 that is truly worthy of its flagship status, a certain pizazz which the Galaxy S5 appeared to lack. Still, we wonder if changing such a key feature as the removable battery is a good one given that the Galaxy S line has always been one of the most flexible, though it could really swing either way, depending on your preference – I guess we’ll find out in just over a month.
