A new software update is beginning to roll-out for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on Verizon Wireless. The update will move your Note 4 to VRU1ANJ5, but it isn’t an early push of Android 5.0.1. It does however add in a number of software fixes and support for the latest device released from Samsung, the Gear VR.
Support for the Galaxy VR is good since the virtual reality headset is designed for use with the Note 4 and just went on sale through Samsung’s website and at AT&T. Although Verizon doesn’t seem to have plans to sell the Gear VR themselves.
The update also pushes a few apps to your device on Verizon’s behalf. You will get a transparent Amazon widget, ISIS app changed over to Softcard and they updated the Galaxy Essential widget as well. Beyond that there are a number of software issues that are also said to be resolved like email notification issues, improved Wi-Fi performance, error affecting Fingerprint scanning and Spanish support for Mobile Hotspots.
If you are a happy Verizon Note 4 owner be on the look out for the update on your device. Make sure you have a sold Wi-Fi connection, over 50% battery life available and some time to kill while it downloads and installs.
