Back in March of this year Samsung released an app called Milk Music. It was another streaming music service that offered up custom curated radio stations for Galaxy device owners. Now Samsung is moving beyond music and diving into the realm of streaming video with a new app called Milk Video. Much like Milk Music, the service is available for free in the US for specific Samsung Galaxy Devices.
“The promise of Milk is a well-designed mobile experience that makes it easy to discover the content you want. We did this first with Milk Music, and now, we extend this promise with Milk Video,†said John Pleasants, Samsung EVP, Media Solutions Center America. “Samsung is committed to giving our customers the best software and services to enhance their device experience. We’re partnering with some of the best brands in new media to deliver great content across our consumers’ passion points: music, comedy, lifestyle, and entertainment.”
Samsung is working directly with various media contributors like Funny or Die, Vevo and Vice to bring in some exclusive Milk Video content with others in the way. Milk Video will learn and refine its content recommendations every time you open the app and use it. It will keep tabs on who you follow, what you dismiss, what you watch and share to bring you content you should want to see rather than content you don’t.
As I mentioned earlier, Milk Video is a Galaxy exclusive. You need to have one of the following devices in order to install it and give it a look: Galaxy Note® II, Galaxy Note® 3, Galaxy Note® 4, Galaxy Note® Edge, Galaxy Mega™, Galaxy S® III, Galaxy S® 4, Galaxy S® 4 mini, Galaxy S® III mini and Galaxy S® 5. If you do and you want to try it out, head on over to the Play Store and pick it up.
