Samsung launches first “traditional flip” Android phone with two displays in China

We have seen a couple of flip Android phones from Motorola, but those were odd flips – including a backflip or sideflip/flipout, and all came with physical QWERTY keyboard and a single display.

Today, Samsung became the first Android phone manufacturer to launch a flip based Android phone that has the “traditional” number pad and includes two displays. Yes, that’s surely a first. Samsung W899 made its debut today in China and it will be available with China Telecom.

Samsung W899 comes with two 3.3 inch AMOLED touchscreen displays, which support multi-touch. Other specifications include Android 2.2, 5MP rear camera with a VGA front facing camera, 1 Ghz processor, and 512 MB internal memory.

Another interesting thing is that Samsung W899 supports both GSM and CDMA bands. Wow, that’s a lot of features in one Android phone. At this time, Samsung has not announced the pricing of this device.

Stay tuned for updates.
