After a semi lackluster press conference at CES 2015, Samsung comes out of the mess with an announcement of a new mid-ranged Samsung Galaxy A7 phone. The device in question hasn’t been a tight-lipped device and has been leaked a number of times with fairly good accuracy. Today Samsung has made the all-metal 5.5-inch screen toting device official along with a spec rundown.
The Galaxy A7 brings a 5.5-inch sAMOLED display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage with Micro SD support and packs in a 2,600mAh battery. On the processor front it appears to offer two versions, one for the single SIM variant and a different chip for the dual SIM variant. On the single SIM side you will find a 32-bit Exynos 5430 clocked at 1.8GHz. The dual SIM version will sport a Qualcomm 64-bit 615 processor at 1.5GHz. Both come loaded with Android 4.4, a 13MP rear camera and an Ultra Wide Shot 5MP front shooter with ‘Auto Selfie’ modes that let you snap images with your voice or a wave of your hand. Connections will carry the usual Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC (on the LTE version only) Physical size brings the device in at  151 x 76.2 x 6.3 mm with a weight of 141g.
Samsung doesn’t give out anything else though. They state the new A7 will launch at a ‘Competitive Price Point’, but fail to offer the price tag. They also mention that the device will launch in ‘select markets’ in Pearl White, Midnight Black, and Champagne Gold. Whether or not the Galaxy A7 finds its way to the states was not mentioned either. Considering that the Qualcomm chipset version is a dual SIM device, I am betting it won’t be landing on carriers here.
