Samsung intends for the Samsung Galaxy S6 to blow our socks off – this much was obvious when we heard that Samsung had codenamed the Galaxy S6 “Project Zero” as if to imply that they are starting from scratch. Well, it seems Samsung is doing just that, and is actually currently testing with at least three different prototypes, some with curved screens like the Galaxy Note Edge. Speaking on Reddit regarding the prototyes, SamsungRep2015, who’s identity has been confirmed as a Samsung employee, said:
“Project Zero is indeed a real thing. I’ve also seen two different GS6 Edge variants, one with the normal Youm display on the Edge, and one with dual curved edges. However, when I went to my orientation, a few weeks before the S5 came out I got to physically see the 5.2 inch version. Samsung prototypes a lot and things change extremely rapidly.”
With this in mind, it’s entirely possible that the device that was leaked out a few days ago could be a prototype Galaxy S6, but it seems unlikely it will look like that when the device is launched. The comments by SamsungRep2015 also give credence to rumours that Samsung was toying with a device with two curved edges, though again, it’s hard to say if this will be carried forward to the final product. Really we can only wait till Samsung announces the device, but it is perhaps comforting to know that Samsung is looking high and low for its “Next Big Thing”.
