Invites are being sent out by Samsung to select members of the press to an event being held in NYC on November 8th as Samsung is set to unveil a new Android device and since Google has just placed their next treat on their front lawn, we can possibly see the first device running Android 2.3, Gingerbread.
As you can see in the invite above the text states that they are in fact unveiling a new Android device, but they did not specify if the Android device is going to be a smartphone or another tablet, but Android and Me’s Taylor Wimberly is suspecting that this will be Samsung’s new Google-experience device.
We’ve heard rumors in the past that Gingerbread will be bringing a new UI; many members around the Android community are questioning the need for the manufacturer’s own custom user interface like HTC’s Sense UI or Motorola’s Motoblur or even Samsung’s TouchWiz which all lead to delayed firmware upgrades as stock Android UI’s receive the updates first.
Rumors will continue to hover around this November 8th event, so until then just keep in mind that what you hear is just speculation and should be taken as a rumor until we get some definite facts. To keep the rumors interesting, what do you think will be coming on November 8th, smartphone running Gingerbread, another tablet or something new? Let us know in the comments below.
