Looks like those rumours were right: invites have started going out to the media telling them to “note the date” for the Samsung Unpacked 2013 event planned for the 4th of September, right before IFA 2013. This lines right up with previous rumours placing the event on that date, and will likely feature the announcements of anticipated Samsung devices, the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear. This will be the second ‘Unpacked’ event of the year; the Galaxy S4 was of course the star of that first event.
The Note 3 is one of the most anticipated devices of the year, planning to continue the surprising performance of the Galaxy Note line with yet more size and more power than before: we’re expecting either a Snapdragon 800 or an Exynos 5420 (or both in different variants) to power the 5.7-inch phablet, with rumoured size variants as well. The Galaxy Gear is likewise a highly anticipated device, heating up the smart watch market which has previously been full of start-up efforts like the Pebble watch, but also Sony’s own SmartWatch.
It’s going to be an interesting event, and an even more exciting week when IFA 2013 kicks open its doors. Hopefully there will be lots of good news for us Android fans. Think we’ll see any surprises? Let us know what you think will go down.
