Looks like Samsung is getting their
wireless charging station put through the excitement that is the FCC. The wireless Qi-compatible charging mat of sorts depicts the size and design of the unit and even features a
Samsung Galaxy S III sitting on it. There
were rumors of a wireless charging mat that was supposed to launch alongside the S III, but obviously that never took place.
The size and design of the mat are what is the most interesting aspect of the FCC filing. You can see the S III sits comfortably on the mat with plenty of space for something larger. It appears to have curved sides that help keep the device where it needs to be. We are thinking potential Note II, Note III and Galaxy S IV pre-planning are at play with its size, making the mat large enough for what is out now and what is coming up. Â The Nexus 4 shipped with the capability, but only recently saw
the charging orb become available for $59.99. The Galaxy S III has the ability to charge on a system like this with a new back plate that wouldn’t change your devices look or feel. It would be certainly beneficial for Samsung to put the charging mat out for multiple device models. I would sure as heck buy one.
