Samsung’s Pushing Androids Limits With Fastest GPU In Android Phones To Date

You all know about the Nexus One, and most of you have heard about the HTC EVO 4G coming down the road with their 1 GHz processors. Well now we have the Samsung Galaxy S pulling out a nice 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor. That pushes this phone above the current top notch phones out there that are in demand, Motorola’s Droid, Google’s Nexus One, and Apple’s Iphone 3GS.

According to Samsung at their press release:

The Samsung Galaxy S’ “Hummingbird” A8 chip will be able to process around 90 million triangle per second. That is compared to the Moto DROID’s 7 mill tri/sec, the Nexus One’s 22 million tri/sec, and the iPhone 3G S’ 90 million tri/sec.

That puts the processor at 3 times the power of the Snapdragon processor currently seen in the Nexus One. An added bonus to this powerful chip is Samsungs own AMOLED screen said to be more efficient than the other AMOLED screens. This year, like the previous is shaping up to be a powerful year for Android. We are just entering Q2, and such big news is being thrown out to the Android community. What else can possibly be in store for us?
