Looking to really boost your devices storage capabilities? SanDisk is certainly pushing things to the extreme this year with a new micro SD card that is sure to leave you with more free space than you might ever need with a 200GB Micro SDXC UHS-1 class 10 chip. You read that correctly, 200GB! That is 72GB more than last years 128GB card. That means the card added a whole Samsung Galaxy S6.64GB device to something the size of your pinky nail.
It does seem a bit odd that they didn’t go to 256 as that is the normal progression of storage. I assume that either they weren’t able to pack enough on the small form to get it that high just yet, or that they did but the performance was horrid and they shot down putting it out. The card does have transfer rates of 90MBs which is double that of the previous 128GB card set at 45MBs. Like with other cards in its class, it is water-proof, shockproof, temperature proof, x-ray proof and magnet proof.
Of course this card won’t do you a whole heck of a lot of good if you are eye-balling either of the Samsung Galaxy S6 devices. Unless you plan to use a USB OTG micro SD card reader. I don’t see it having issues with the Note 4, HTC One M9 or other similar devices. I don’t have any issues with the 128GB in the Note 4. While the card has been announced, it isn’t available quite yet. It is scheduled for release in Q2 and will pull in a whopping price tag of $399. The price tag does give you massive storage and a 10 year warranty. I am sure the price will come down fairly rapidly like the 128GB variant did. It started off at $199 and now sits around $99.
