Lock screens are always a nice addition to have on your device. Often times in order to get a new lock screen look, we need to find a theme and apply it with metamorph or zipthemer. That can sometimes cause problems for users. Not everyone is capable of using those apps correctly. I know I am not stupid, but even I have trouble getting them to do what I tell them to do. That is where apps like Widget Locker come in. A $1.99 isn’t overly expensive for what it can offer the end user. What about a free one though?

Pretty clever. The lockscreen will display the time, weather, location, battery, music player, current song, calendar events and volume settings all on your lock screen for convenient viewing. Add in that Force ability, and you are sure to stand out in a crowd. It had some fairly dissatisfied comments on the market. They were from back in May. The only reason I point this out is because the app was updated today. Give it a try, its free, and let the dev know how things are working now.
