So LG Might Actually Be Making The Nexus 5 And Might Have a Prototype Already

Nexus 5Well it seems we might have been wrong on this one, caught out by simple semantics no less. Last week, the media went into a frenzy regarding comments that Kim Wong, European VP of LG, made regarding the success of the Nexus 4 which we took to mean LG wasn’t going to make the Nexus 5. While Wong did say that LG didn’t need another “marketing success” like the Nexus 4, that doesn’t explicitly imply anything about the LG’s plans for the future. I mean, they’re a business, right? Who wouldn’t want more success?

Further debunking that notion while simultaneously confirming the Nexus 5’s existence comes an article from Unwired View which reports that the Nexus 5 is already in prototype form, having been in testing for the past month. On top of this, it is claimed that the Nexus 5 was shown to Larry Page, Google‘s CEO, while he was visiting the South Korean company. If this report is to be believed, then the Nexus 5 will be due this year sometime, likely sporting Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.

Well, there you have it. As always, you can take it or leave it, but this isn’t the first time and it definitely won’t be the last time we’ll be talking about Nexus 5 rumours before the end of the year. This whole ordeal is starting to smell like another recently announced phone…

Do you believe these accounts? Or is this a bit too “Moto X”? Let us know what you think in the comments.
