Today was a good day in the Android world: Android 4.3 was officially announced and will be rolling out to Nexus devices immediately. While that is to be expected, the real question is which phone manufacturers will jump on the bandwagon first to roll out Android 4.3 to its Android devices. Well, it looks like Sony has the right idea.
In its blog post on Sony Mobile, Sony assures its Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z users that they haven’t been forgotten and it will roll out Android 4.2 in August. More importantly, the blog post goes on to promise that Android 4.3 will be made to the aforementioned devices as well as the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia Z Ultra and the Xperia SP.
Sony even goes as far to suggest that it will consider jumping some devices from Android 4.1 to 4.3, stopping short of specifically naming any devices, but the future could be bright if you have a relatively recent Sony device running Android 4.1. It sounds like Sony is the first of the manufacturers to mention its intentions with the newest build of Android, though we have heard swirling rumours that Samsung will be jumping the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 from Android 4.1 to 4.3 as well.
