We know Android 5.0 Lollipop is a very powerful version of Android. It is also one that requires very little hardware in order run. With manufacturers like Motorola stuffing it inside lower end devices like the Moto E, it would only make sense to assume that other manufacturers might be looking to do the same, well, at least updating some of their recent low-end to mid-tier devices. A number of tweets seem to confirm that Sony won’t be going that route with previous devices, like the Xperia E1, and will focus solely on updating the Xperia Z flagship line.
This isn’t the only message that the Sony Xperia twitter account has put out stating that the Xperia Z will be all they are focusing on. Another tweet answer the same question in regards to the Xperia M2. Â This should also mean that the Xperia T, Xperia SÂ and all other moniker of devices from last year are out of the loop as well. It is no secret that Sony‘s mobile division hasn’t been doing spectacular. Focusing their efforts on the flagship line of devices will certainly keep those folks happy. We could toss in the that Sony did make an announcement back in October that said they would update all Xperia Z devices with Android 5.0 Lollipop while leaving out every other device out there.
