If you are one of the lucky ones that jumped on the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 devices, it looks like your luck just ran out if you were expecting to eventually receive Froyo. The leaked document above is the software update roadmap and although your device is looking to get 3 major updates in the future, it looks like Android 2.2 won’t be one of them.
Your Xperia X10 is looking to receive 1.6x, 2.1 and 2.1x and in the upcoming 2.1 update, your device will receive the following improvements:
- Sync your contacts with Facebook and Twitter
- 720p HD recording
- 5 homescreens
- HTML5 support
Dates for the these firmware updates are unknown, but knowing something is better than nothing, right? It also looks like the X10, X10 Mini and X8 will be receiving the 2.1 update that will also bring
- An incremental change in the four corner navigation
- Bluetooth 2.1
2.1x is looking to improve Timescape and Mediascape, but we’ll just have to wait and find out when it comes. It looks like you won’t be tasting Froyo, unless you decide you jump ship and get one of those newly announced HTC devices.
