Spending 20 minutes underwater suggests the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is waterproof

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is not marketed as a waterproof device, nor is it even suggested that it is water resistant. But as one YouTuber discovered, the S6 Edge might just have a hidden ability after it spends over 20 minutes in a bowl of water completely submerged while switched on: yes, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is waterproof. Check out the video below:

Now, assuming you watched the video all the way to the end, you’ll know that there is somewhat of a caveat on the S6 Edge’s waterproofing – the water does actually get inside the device, and if not dried properly, will end up potentially ruining your phone as it did in this video. However, it’s very possible that for short escapades in water the S6 Edge may have entirely viable water resistance, which is a nice plus considering that nobody was expecting that after the device’s release. All said and done, the S6 Edge’s performance underwater is actually pretty impressive, even if the end result wasn’t as convincing, especially since other phones that don’t claim water resistance would not be able to replicate the same feat.

What do you think about the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge’s water resistant behaviour? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
