Spotify set to launch service in Germany Tomorrow

Spotify and their streaming music services have been a staple in my daily life. While I still use Google Music while out and about, I live on Spotify during the day while at my PC. Having access to millions of tracks, play lists, and music apps at the touch of a mouse is extremely useful to me. It took Spotify a little while to finally bring the service to the U.S. and even longer for them to make their way to Germany.

They will be met with open arms and the usual amount of competition fo similar services from Simfy and others. Spotify will launch with the same great free service that we have all grown to love along with the same 10 euros a month subscription service. The additional subscription gives you the ability to stream on your Android device plus takes away the annoying commercials. To kick things up a notch, they will also be launching with 10 third-party applications that are Germany specific. Eventim, Fellody, Motor.de, Interview Magazine and laut.de.

“We wanted to make sure we had the right product and platform ready for the German consumers,” Jeff Levick, chief sales officer at Spotify, told the FT. “It’s the first market we are launching with apps already built into the platform specifically for Germany.”

The move will bring many more tracks from German Artists to its data base and bring the total number of tracks available to 16 million. The addition of Germany will also move Spotify to thirteen total markets covered by the service. As time progresses, Spotify will continue to launch in more countries and bring even more music to its users across the globe.
