Sprint Considering T-Mobile Merger For LTE In Future

Sprint’s CEO, Dan Hesse, has gone on record stating that Sprint is still considering a merger with T-Mobile at some point down the road. Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile’s parent company feels that T-Mobile is doing well, even though reports are suggesting that T-Mobile will die in 2011. Sprint feels that a merger would be beneficial to both parties and would be a leading contender to take on the nation’s leading wireless network, Verizon wireless.

Sprint thought that with WiMax and with launching their first 4G device the HTC Evo, that they would have a head start on the competition. Unfortunately for them, Verizon has bigger plans with their LTE launch later this year or early 2011. This launch will leave Sprint behind again. Unless they team up with T-Mobile, Sprint will be left in the cold and with more of their customers heading to the competition, Sprint as a whole will plummet.
